A new shared services deal aimed at improving NHS payroll operations has been signed.

The contract will see NHS Shared Business Services work with existing provider Steria in order to put in place workforce optimisation and electronic rostering systems from Manpower Software.

Jim Vincent, managing director of NHS Shard Business Services, explained that the deal is part of an ongoing process aimed at reducing spending.

He said: "Our partnership with Manpower Software will drive forward our strategy in providing an increasing range of software applications that have been hand-picked to deliver faster, streamlined and more cost efficient processing."

NHS Shared Business Services has allowed the NHS to focus on providing high-quality healthcare, Mr Vincent added.

Last week, Janet Callender, chairwoman of the Local Government Delivery Council, stated that shared services allow councils to offer improved facilities to their constituents.

Writing for Public Service Review, she explained that working together to pool knowledge offers many advantages.ADNFCR-1942-ID-18915644-ADNFCR
