David Turner is responsible for global marketing at Unit 4 Agresso, one of the world’s largest ERP suppliers. Based in the UK, David works closely with the country and product marketing teams responsible for Unit 4 Agresso's key brands including Agresso (ERP for services organisations), CODA (international Accounting system) and FinancialForce.com (cloud accounting system).
He has enjoyed a long career with the Group, joining in 1991 and was part of the senior management team that grew the company globally from 2000 until its acquisition by Unit 4 Agresso in 2008.
With an honours degree in Physics, David's career started in the editorial department of the Institute of Physics’ publishing division. During a two year stay in Australia, he worked as a science and technology journalist and wrote for the New Scientist, The Australian and The Melbourne Age among others. He writes and talks on technology in shared services and outsourcing.
Agresso and CODA are leading global financial and business management solutions with unique architectures that help public and private sector organisations adapt and cope with rapidly changing business and trading environments without the time and cost implications of managing change associated with larger, more traditional systems. In this session David will be tackling the issue of managing business and process change in a shared services environment, and the role of technology and ERP systems can, and should, play.

Charlotte Mackintosh works for Quintiles Limited and is responsible for the HR Shared Services operations for Europe and EMEA. Responsible for the implementation of Quintiles HR Shared services in 2001 and for it’s continued growth and development. Now in its eighth year of operation it has seen significant diversification in terms of service provision and recently was short listed as part of the Quintiles Global HR Shared Services unit for best captive, mature shared service centre. In the past Charlotte has worked for Prudential and Scottish Water and has extensive first implementation experience with particular success in delivering HR, communication and systems solutions in large multi-site organisations.

Dr. Marcus Demgenski is the Director Finance Shared Services Europe for LyondellBasell Industries where he manages the Finance Shared Service Centre Europe of LyondellBasell in Brussels. He also is a Director of Basell Polyolefins Company. LyondellBasell is one of the world's largest polymers, petrochemicals and fuels companies. Marcus has been at BASF since 1989, started his career in Ludwigshafen/Germany, spent five years in France as CFO of a subsidiary, before joining the BASF/Shell JV in 1999 as Finance Director for Germany. Being a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Marcus transformed Basell's Finance Centre into a lean, KPI led organization, focusing on tangible business process improvements through various Six Sigma Projects in the area of Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay. Marcus studied Business Administration, specialized in Finance and Accounting. He has a PhD from the University of St. Gallen, and is graduated in German Tax Law by the German Chamber of Lawyers.

I started my career in Executive Search in 2000 after I left University, working as a Researcher and latterly as Search Consultant. I joined AstraZeneca in 2004 as an Internal Search Consultant, following the formation of a Recruitment team when the company mpved from a generalist HR model to the Ulrich structure. In 2006 I moved into the line in an HR Business Partner role before finally getting the opportunity to lead my own team in 2007 when I joined HR Delivery Services as the Team Manager. In September 2008 I accepted the opportunity to lead UK HR Delivery Services and also took global responsibility for our HR Contact Centres, leading teams in Sweden and North America in addition to the UK. Then, in January 2009, after our HR Leadership Team announced its intention to outsource all HR Services, I joined a team of 15 to review the possibility of providing globally consistent HR Services to over 100 countries with the ambition to present a proposal to the company Board in September 2009.

John Hall has range of multi sector and cross-functional experience in the shared services arena. In a career spanning some 27 years, John has held a number of Finance and IT positions, in the United Kingdom and Europe working for companies such as Digital Equipment, DHL, American Standard and most recently DSM. John has a background in leading change in finance teams and businesses including the implementation of large projects in areas such as processes, technology and organisation. His current role is to define the strategy with the business and the implement and develop the business support organization at DSM on a global basis covering HR, Finance and Process organizations.
In his last role, John was responsible to negotiate, co-ordinate the design and implementation of shared services in EMEA. His role (which developed based on business needs) included the responsibility for negotiation and implementation of outsourcing deals plus managing: facilities, headquarters and corporate finance, HR transactional processes, travel, indirect procurement, data centres and the network. Recently the role of building a shared services model altered when American Standard decided to break up the businesses and the role in recent months has been to break the SSC and outsourcing deals out into the three individual businesses. John interests include Rugby, Cricket, Diving and Golf.

Founder and owner of consultancy edpool, Jens Gemmel specialises in the turnaround of major Business Transformation, Shared Services, Outsourcing and Cost Control initiatives. Rather than just managing deliverables, his focus has been on defining and measuring success and performance of large scale programmes. Most recently he has been applying his knowledge gained in the private sector to shape the corporate priorities and transformation agendas of local government in order to achieve their ambitious savings targets over the coming years. He has held various interim management and board level posts and was responsible for setting up shared services for organisations such as Marsh and Westminster City Council. Jens is currently Transformation Advisor to the Chief Executive and Executive Director of Resources and Finance at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Nigel Coffey is a Chartered Accountant and has six years audit experience with both Arthur Andersen and Price Waterhouse in their audit and business advisory departments across many sectors, Europe and the US. He has 12 years experience at Director Level in the Pharmaceutical Industry, the last eight years with Pfizer. He has also worked in the IT and Advertising sectors. He has extensive business and financial transformation experience as well as significant experience in acquisitions and disposals.
His current role sees him oversee customer relationship management/service delivery for Pfizers European Shared Service Operations. In addition he manages the Expenditure, O2C, performance management and reporting teams. Pfizer Global Financial Solutions Europe based in Dublin, Ireland, provides financial support on the Oracle Financials platform for all of Pfizers divisions across 17 European countries. To provide this support the Dublin based team also manages the relationship with BPO service provider Genpact who deliver European Voice Support out of Romania and Transactional Processing support out of India.

Rob is a highly motivated, energetic and pro-active individual with a proven track record of achievement in Operational & Programme Delivery, Organisational & Capability Development and Change Management. He has spent much of the last 10 years delivering within or establishing HR Shared Service operations.
His current role is to create the new HR Shared Service function for Lloyds Banking Group achieving significant target synergies in operational running costs through a single integrated HR back office. The scope of the service is inclusive of all onshore and offshore colleague administration and data, payroll, pension and recruitment operations and colleague employee relations guidance. The creation of an effective organizational design as well as property, sourcing and technology strategies are all key enablers to this significant change implementation.
Rob has previously worked within Halifax Bank of Scotland as Head of HR Programmes where he was responsible for the delivery and governance of the HR Change & Transformation portfolio and the functional HR business and financial plan. Prior to joining HBOS, Rob was a successful Senior Programme Manager in Accenture HR Services. He was accountable for implementing outsourcing contracts and leading project teams from across both Accenture and the client organisation to design and implement the transition programme to the outsource shared service delivery model. Here he gained a broader experience of the financial services and construction sectors as well as refining his consulting, programme management and B2B customer expertise.
Rob's previous experience has been from 9 years working in the Retail sector at Boots the Chemist and The Big Food Group. Here he delivered in Senior Organisational Change and Programme positions that included establishing a new HR operating model as well as operating within numerous customer facing commercial roles.

Sharon has over 30 years experience in finance processing, leading and developing teams and business processes that have created cost reductions, improved productivity and customer service. Sharon has successfully led major strategic change, including outsourcing, off-shoring, business integration, restructuring, data migration and system development projects. In March 2006 Sharon became the Head of the Finance Shared Service Centre responsible for the finance transaction processing areas and in early 2007 several processes were outsourced to India.
Since joining First Choice Holidays Plc in 1991, Sharon enjoyed a number of finance management roles supporting the mainstream and specialist businesses. The First Choice Group merged with TUI Travel Plc in 2007 to become the leading global leisure organisation providing all aspects of leisure and business travel for diverse customers & markets around the world.
Sharon is a graduate member of The Institute of Credit Management, and held the position of Branch Chairperson as well as lecturing at Brighton College in Credit Management studies.
Szymon Najdychor

As the EMEA HR Business Services Manager for Rockwell Automation, based in Katowice, Poland, Szymon directly oversees a team responsible for the EMEA service delivery of Workforce Administration, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits and Talent Acquisition.
He was also the primary architect of the Shared Services Organization for Europe, Middle East and Africa, responsible for a support for the simultaneous implementation of the SAP HCM module for the 23 countries in the EMEA region.
Prior to Rockwell, Szymon had ten years of experience as an HR Generalist, which included acting as Senior Learning and Development Advisor for Central and Eastern Europe at BP Poland, HR Director for ACS Poland and held other managerial and specialist assignments in the areas of recruitment, administration and payroll.
Szymon holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Jagiellonian University, Krakow, and completed Post-Graduate Studies in Human Resources Management at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy, Krakow.
Philip Whelan

Philip Whelan is the Head of BP’s European Business Service Centre in Budapest, Hungary. He’s leading the preparation, set-up, building-to-scale and running of the European BSC to operate Finance, Customer Service and Operational Procurement activities of BP’s Refining and Marketing across Europe. Philip joined BP in February 2009 from Genpact where he was Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Romania and Poland Operations and successfully built Genpact’s European organization across sites in Hungary, Romania and Poland.
Prior to his role at Genpact, Philip was European Financial Controller and then Director of European Operations and Finance with Artesyn Technologies International. Philip has an educational background in accounting from the Cork Institute of Technology, Cork, Ireland and is FCMA, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Philip also has an MBA, Henley Management College, United Kingdom and is a Certified Six-Sigma Black Belt.
